Hi!! I'm Melissa
Welcome to my website!

A Little Bit About Me....

My very first acting job was a re-enactment for "Rescue 911" when I was 4 years old.  At 5, I was cast as "Patsy" in the Lifetime Original Movie, "Chasing the Dragon", and got to work with actress Markie Post.   Later that same year (1996) I wast cast as "Trouble" in  The Atlanta Opera's production of "Madama Butterfly", filmed my first national commercial (for Diet Coke), did a series of commercials for Turner Broadcasting and had 2 full page photos in "First" magazine.

Over the years, I've done lots more film, TV, video, print work and commercials.   I've even been a guest PA announcer for the Atlanta Braves!  Working with The Atlanta Opera opened up the world of theatre for me.  I've now done almost 2 dozen professional theatre  productions, and have worked with many of the best theatres in Atlanta, some of them more than once.  I'm currently taking a break from acting to concentrate on music (I play flute and piccolo).  I am a section leader in my high school's marching band, and I aspire to be Drum Major.  See photo below.  The link to my resume is broken, so if my mom can fix it, it will be back.

November 2006 I auditioned for the Governor's Honors Program on Nov. 2.  I will find out in December if I make it to the next round, which is a state level audition.  If I make it in, I will get 6 weeks, all expenses paid, at Valdosta University this summer to study music.

June 2006  I spent 16 awesome days in Europe this month as a Georgia Music Ambassor!!  We performed in London, Paris, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and made a side trip to Venice, Italy. I had the most awesome time and I cannot wait to go back again in 2008!!!!!!

May 2006 At the band banquet, I was awarded ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!!  GO ME!!!  Next year, I will be one of the flute section leaders.

May 9, 2005  I played a solo at our spring band concert, and it was excellent!!  I got an award for getting to the Master Level, and was voted "Most Dedicated" and "Most Likely to Become Professional".  At the auditions for the high school band, I scored a 99 out of 100, placing me in "the first 4 or 5 chairs" in the top symphonic band!!  GO ME!!!!!!!!!

April 29, 2005 The Gwinnett Youth Orchestra took home 3 golds from the Southern Star Music Festival.  It was our best performance of the year!!

ART Within's "Moreau" Excerpt from the review:
"Another notable performance is by Melissa DaPonte in her cameo as Eden, an experiment that Moreau is forced to kill.  At eleven years old, she stepped in with only a few days' notice when the original cast member was injured, learning all her lines to perfection!"
