Hi!! I'm Melissa

A Little Bit About Me....

My very first acting job was a re-enactment for "Rescue 911" when I was 4 years old.  At 5, I was cast as "Patsy" in the Lifetime Original Movie, "Chasing the Dragon", and got to work with actress Markie Post.   Later that same year (1996) I wast cast as "Trouble" in  The Atlanta Opera's production of "Madama Butterfly", filmed my first national commercial (for Diet Coke) and did a series of commercials for Turner Broadcasting.

I discovered marching band at Youth Night when I was in 8th grade.  Ever since that night, acting has taken a backseat to music.  I was Rookie of the Year my freshman year in high school, was flute section leader Sophmore, Junior and Senior years, and was band president Senior Year.  I was awarded the John Philip Sousa band award my senior year for my talent and leadership skills.

I am currently a freshman at Georgia State University, majoring in Music Education.

September 17, 2009  My first college concert!!  The Symphonic Wind Ensemble (SWE) performed in the Kopleff Recital Hall.

May 30, 2009  I performed in Carnegie Hall with the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemle (MAYWE). It was the most incredible experience to date.  We did a lot of sight seeing, saw a Broadway Show, and I got to spend time with Rae & Rich.  I cannot wait to go back!

March, 2009  After years of trying, I finally made ALL STATE!  Savannah, GA was incredible and we were lucky enough to be there during their "First Saturday" Festival on the river.  It was great fun, and I completely enjoyed playing on the All State level.

June 2006  I spent 16 awesome days in Europe as a Georgia Music Ambassor!!  We performed in London, Paris, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and made a side trip to Venice, Italy. I had the most awesome time and I cannot wait to go back.

May 2006   At the band banquet, I was awarded ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!!

ART Within's "Moreau" Excerpt from the review:
"Another notable performance is by Melissa DaPonte in her cameo as Eden, an experiment that Moreau is forced to kill.  At eleven years old, she stepped in with only a few days' notice when the original cast member was injured, learning all her lines to perfection!"
